Bangkok: The Prime Minister visited a Lama temple to promote cultural relations. At 3:00 PM (Beijing local time, which is one hour ahead of Thailand time) in Beijing, People's Republic of China, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and his delegation visited and paid respects to important Buddha statues at the Lama Temple.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister and his delegation lit incense and paid respects to Buddha statues and Bodhisattva images inside the temple to seek blessings for Thailand and the prosperity of Thai-Chinese relations, as well as to promote cultural ties between Thailand and China in the field of Buddhism, before departing from Beijing International Airport. They are expected to arrive in Bangkok at approximately 7:40 PM tonight.
Furthermore, the Yonghe Palace, a Lama temple, translated from "Yonghe Palace" to Thai, was formerly the residence of two emperors of the Qing Dynasty. It is a melting pot of cultures from four major Chinese ethnic groups: Han, Manchu, Mongol, and Tibetan, all blended together harmoniously. Considered a valuable cultural tourist attraction in Beijing, it was built in 1694 as a residence for Emperor Yongzheng. Later, his son, Emperor Qianlong, succeeded him in 1744, and he granted the entire palace grounds to Tibetan monks, renaming it the "Lama Temple."
