Public Health Minister Addresses Allegations of Civil Service Exam Corruption

Bangkok: Public Health Minister Phatthana Phromphat has clarified the situation surrounding "Dr. Win," a figure implicated in the recent civil service exam corruption scandal, affirming that there will be no interference from his office and announcing stricter screening processes for team members.

According to Thai News Agency, Minister Phatthana addressed the controversy involving Mr. Win Thanapachrapokin, known as "Dr. Win," who has been accused in the local government civil service examination corruption case. Mr. Win had previously served briefly as the head of the Minister's working group in October 2025. The Minister emphasized that he had no personal ties to Mr. Win, having only met him once during introductions, and assured full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.

Mr. Phatthana clarified that Mr. Win was recommended by his team due to his experience on various government committees, but stressed that their relationship was not close. In response to questions about future hiring practices, Mr. Phatthana announced that the evaluation and verification of future team members' qualifications will become significantly more rigorous to safeguard the organization's integrity.

The Minister reiterated his commitment to a transparent investigation, stating that neither he nor his team members have any connections to the accused individuals. He assured the public that the investigation into the examination fraud would proceed without hindrance from his office.
