Tokyo: M7 Sportwear, students from Satri Witthaya 2 School, are training in football in Japan. After the U-13 team from Satri Witthaya 2 School won the "M7 U-13 THAILAND CUP" 7-a-side youth football tournament last March, M7 Sportwear, the sports apparel manufacturer and sponsor of the competition, initially wanted the winning team to train in South Korea. However, the plan was changed to train in Tokyo, Japan for five days, from June 26-30.
According to Thai News Agency, the trip to Japan included Dr. Attaphol Thirapornphongsiri, Director of Satri Witthaya 2 School, along with over 20 athletes and coaching staff; Dr. Bancha Pluem-Arom and Dr. Amnat Apsorn, Deputy Directors of the Bangkok Metropolitan Area Secondary Education Service Area Office 2 (Deputy Director of BMA 2); and Narongrit Sapcharoen, executive of M7 Sportwear.
Through training in Japan, the athletes from Satri Witthaya 2 School gained intensive training and experience from the Japanese coaching staff. They also played one warm-up match against Tokyo Jitsugyo High School (Tojitsu), which Satri Witthaya 2 lost 2-0.
After completing the training, Dr. Attaphol Thirapornphongsiri, Director of Satri Witthaya 2 School, commented on bringing the football players for training: 'We wanted the players to gain experience and learn correct football skills. Japan, like us, is an Asian country that has developed its football rapidly and has consistently participated in the World Cup. The development of Thai football must start with the youth. I hope that the U-13 players from Satri Witthaya 2 will benefit from this and be able to use this experience back in Thailand.'
Narongrit Sapcharoen, CEO of M7 Sportwear, commented on the event: 'It was a great opportunity to bring the students from Satri Witthaya 2 School, who recently won the M7 U-13 THAILAND CUP, to train in Tokyo, Japan, and play a friendly match against Tojirushi High School. This provides the students with the chance to experience the atmosphere, football culture, and rigorous training in Japan. We hope they gain valuable experience to develop themselves and potentially play professionally and for the Thai national team in the future.'
