Bangkok: The "Thai Helps Thai" campaign concluded with impressive results, circulating over 135.39 million baht and reducing living costs by over 29.62 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Narucha Khosasilvilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, highlighted the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul in driving the "Thai Helps Thai: Reduce the Burden, Lower the Cost of Living" project. The initiative aims to alleviate the high cost of living and stimulate the grassroots economy across the nation.
The Department of Provincial Administration, along with the Department of Business Development, modern wholesalers, and local entrepreneurs, organized a nationwide sales event. This collaboration involved mobile vendor networks to provide affordable goods across all 878 districts. The initiative aimed to offer essential goods at reasonable prices and support the liquidity of SMEs, community shops, and OTOP businesses.
The campaign's final event, the fifth in its series, attracted over 182,000 participants, generating 24.49 million baht in economic activity and reducing expenses by over 5.10 million baht. The top five provinces with the highest spending included Chonburi, Ang Thong, Saraburi, Chiang Mai, and Ratchaburi. Leading districts in spending were Mueang Chonburi, Mueang Saraburi, Mueang Nonthaburi, Mueang Phuket, and Mueang Ratchaburi.
Overall, the "Thai Helps Thai: Reduce Burden, Lower Cost of Living" project has achieved a cumulative economic impact of over 135.39 million baht, substantially lowering the cost of living by over 29.62 million baht. The Director-General emphasized the campaign's role in providing access to quality goods at affordable prices, reducing household expenses, and continuously stimulating the grassroots economy. He expressed gratitude to all sectors involved in successfully driving the grassroots economy and supporting the public.
