Thai Ministry of Commerce Launches ‘GIFTS FOR GAIN’ Catalog to Boost Border Area Products

Bangkok: Help support Thai products from areas along the Cambodian border. The Ministry of Commerce is helping to expand market channels for Thai entrepreneurs, including those operating in the Thai-Cambodian border area and franchise businesses.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Commerce has launched the “GIFTS FOR GAIN” catalog, featuring high-quality gifts from seven southern border provinces: Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Surin, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat. These gift sets are perfect for New Year’s celebrations and other special occasions. More information can be found on the Ministry of Commerce’s business database website .

Commerce Minister Supajee Suthamphan stated that this product catalog is in line with the policy of strengthening SMEs, especially in regional areas, by promoting marketing channels to reach more consumers and creating added value for products so they can be sold at higher prices. At the same time, it also supports entrepreneurs and farmers in the seven border areas between Thailand and Cambodia.

This catalog selected promising products from each province and provided guidance to entrepreneurs on packaging design and gift sets. The products have been compiled into an e-catalog for easy dissemination to various organizations and the general public, encouraging support for products from entrepreneurs in border provinces. A total of 52 entrepreneurs and over 208 products were selected in this catalog.

Mr. Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, stated that the department is preparing to hold a Franchise Roadshow in 4 regions and 4 provinces across the country: Chonburi, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Udon Thani. The aim is to elevate Thai franchise businesses towards proactive growth and create opportunities for people in the regions to own businesses systematically. This will help create jobs, generate income, and distribute wealth to local communities. The event is expected to generate at least 590 million baht in revenue.

The roadshow will be held between December 2025 and March 2026, comprising: the first on December 19-22, 2025 at Central Sriracha; the second on January 15-18, 2026 at Central Chiang Mai Festival; the third on February 5-8, 2026 at Central Phuket Festival; and the fourth on March 5-8, 2026 at Central Udon Thani. Selected franchise businesses that meet the DBD Franchise Standard 2025 will participate in the roadshow, providing a platform for interested parties in the provinces and surrounding areas to meet franchise owners directly, conduct business negotiations, and learn comprehensive business information.
