Thai Police and FBI Strengthen Cooperation in Combating Crime

Bangkok: Thai police and the FBI are joining forces to combat crime, with a focus on transnational crime and cybercrime. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of building a security network to address modern threats during a recent conference.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed the organizing committee of the 26th FBI National Academy Associates Asia Pacific Chapter Retraining Conference. The meeting took place at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House, where key points were revealed by Ms. Rachada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude towards the FBI-NAAT Alumni Association of Thailand for hosting the meeting, marking the association's 40th anniversary. This event underscores the confidence and strong relationship between Thai law enforcement agencies and the FBI National Academy network.

The Prime Minister highlighted that current threats, particularly cybercrime and transnational crime, are becoming more sophisticated and require international cooperation. The Thai government is committed to enhancing cooperation with the FBI and its partner networks, focusing on technology upgrades, personnel development, and information exchange to effectively combat crime.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister assured Thailand's commitment to continue working closely with the FBI National Academy Associates and its global network. This collaboration aims to improve personnel capabilities, facilitate knowledge and technology exchange, and build a robust network to tackle emerging threats, enhancing safety and quality of life globally.

The organizing committee recognized Thailand as a key law enforcement partner in the region, acknowledging its cooperation in intelligence sharing, investigation, and suppression of crimes like human trafficking and cybercrime. These efforts have led to more effective prosecution, asset recovery, and victim assistance.

The conference provided a platform for law enforcement agencies from 26 countries to exchange knowledge and experiences. Its goals were to improve personnel capabilities, strengthen cooperation, and reinforce international law enforcement networks, with participation from over 150 representatives.
