Pathum thani: The "War Elephants," Thailand's national football team, are intensifying their physical recovery efforts ahead of their upcoming match against Myanmar in the 2026 ASEAN Football Championship. The team, led by players Waris Chuthong and Nattapong Sairiya, remains focused on securing victory in their final group B match, having already triumphed in their previous three games.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai team continued their training sessions at the BGTC 3 stadium in Pathum Thani province, concentrating on physical recovery for players who were not active in the last game. This preparation follows their recent 1-0 victory over the Philippines, after which the team returned to Thailand. The players are determined not to underestimate Myanmar and are calling on fans to support them from the sidelines to help achieve their fourth consecutive win.
Waris Chuthong, the right-back for the Thai national team, acknowledged the challenges faced in the match against the Philippines but expressed satisfaction with his performance in securing the win. He emphasized the importance of not underestimating Myanmar, despite their strong opposition, as the team aims to earn another three points and progress to the next round.
Nattapong Saiyariya, a defender for the team, highlighted the coach's emphasis on quick recovery, given the demanding nature of the past three matches and extensive travel. He credited the team's collective effort for maintaining clean sheets in all matches so far. As the team prepares to face Myanmar at home, Saiyariya invited fans to fill the stadium and cheer them on, promising that the players will give their all without complacency.
