Bangkok: In the final stretch of the Bangkok gubernatorial campaign, Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri, the Democrat Party's candidate, bolstered his efforts with a robust campaign across Watthana, Dusit, and Ratchathewi districts. Accompanied by Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, the party leader, as well as Mr. Sakoltee Phatthiyakul and Mr. Ongart Klamphaiboon, Anucha focused on promoting the "Community-Based Healthcare" policy, which aims to reduce waiting times and cut inequality in healthcare access.
According to Thai News Agency, the campaign trail saw Anucha and his team engaging with local residents in the bustling Phra Khanong and Rung Arun Market areas. Despite the challenges posed by heavy morning traffic, Anucha took the opportunity to listen to public concerns, particularly on economic hardship and the necessity of road improvements for safer trading environments.
The campaign also included a visit to Public Health Center 21 Wat That Thong, a key primary care unit in Bangkok. Anucha addressed complaints from patients about overcrowding and registration delays, unveiling policies like the 'Fast Track' system for the elderly and chronically ill to eliminate long waiting lists. Additionally, he proposed increasing the ratio of medical personnel to patients to enhance accessibility and reduce inequality, ensuring that medical care is available near residents' homes. Anucha's commitment extended to engaging with parents at Wat That Thong School, demonstrating his dedication to improving the quality of life from the family level upwards.
