Akranan Announces New Center for the Protection of Private Education

Bangkok: Akranan Kankittinant, Deputy Minister of Education and Director of the Center for the Protection of Rights, Freedoms, and Security, has announced the establishment of a new center dedicated to enhancing the safety and standards of private education nationwide. The announcement was made during the 3rd/2026 meeting on private education management, held at the Vivek Pangphuthipong Meeting Room and broadcasted via Zoom to regional offices.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Akranan emphasized the importance of private education in the development of the country's population. He outlined the mission of the Center for the Protection of Rights, Freedoms, and Safety, which aims to proactively safeguard students and educational personnel. The center's three main operational guidelines are maintaining a unified standard across districts, ensuring proactive safety measures, and enhancing efficiency by reducing procedural barriers for private schools.

Mr. Akranan highlighted the Ministry of Education's commitment to transparency and accuracy. To this end, the complaint handling unit within all agencies will be uniformly named the Center for the Protection of Rights, Freedoms, and Security. The implementation of the Traffy Fondue technology system will enable better monitoring of processes, marking negligent areas in red for immediate attention. The center will operate around the clock to address complaints.

The Deputy Minister stressed the need for a cultural shift within the organization, advocating for transparency and open communication to address and resolve issues. The Center for the Protection of Rights is designed to be a permanent mechanism within the Ministry, ensuring the sustainable protection of teachers, students, and educational personnel.
