Bangkok Gubernatorial Elections See High Hopes for Cooperative Leadership

Bangkok: "Yotchanan" and his wife participated in the gubernatorial and Bangkok City Council elections, expressing hopes for a new governor who will collaborate effectively with all parties.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Yotchanan Wongswasdi and his wife, Ms. Nantakan Silpasawekul, cast their votes at polling station 55 in Thung Song Hong subdistrict at 1:00 PM. Mr. Yotchanan was listed as voter number 311, while Ms. Nantakan was number 236. Yotchanan emphasized the importance of voting as a democratic right and expressed his desire for a governor who can prioritize public welfare across all demographics.

Mr. Yotchanan, when asked about his preferences for the next Bangkok governor, highlighted the need for a leader focused on enhancing the quality of life for citizens. He acknowledged the good intentions of all candidates but stressed that the decision ultimately lies with the voters. In his government role, Yotchanan is responsible for human resource development and is committed to assisting the new governor. He urged the upcoming leader to address the needs of the elderly and childcare centers under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, ensuring their welfare.

Yotchanan also expressed readiness to collaborate with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) schools and universities to foster an innovation ecosystem in Bangkok, with hopes of extending benefits to other provinces. He highlighted the importance of enhancing skills for working-age citizens and working with the BMA to improve healthcare and telemedicine services.

After voting, Yotchanan received support from the public, who took photos with him and offered encouragement for his ongoing work.
