Hua hin: Minister Surasak, accompanied by Minister Phatarapong, visited Hua Hin to promote Bo Fai Airport to international standards, highlighting a new dimension in tourism and attracting high-spending tourists. At 3:30 PM, Mr. Surasak Panjaroenvorakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, along with Mr. Patarapong Pataraprasit, Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Sittichai Sawatsen, Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Ms. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and executives from related agencies such as the Department of Airports, the Department of Rail Transport, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and Thai AirAsia, held a meeting to discuss and brainstorm with the private sector and held a press conference on "Takeoff Hua Hin: Driving International Flight Routes - Market and Customer Insights Workshop" to promote tourism development and upgrade Hua Hin Airport in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, aiming to position Hua Hin as a distinctive destination focusing on wellness and luxury.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Surasak revealed that this brainstorming session between the public and private sectors is a crucial starting point for developing Hua Hin, Cha-am, and surrounding areas in Prachuap Khiri Khan province into a new dimension of tourism. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports aims to raise the standards and elevate Hua Hin to a world-class destination comparable to other coastal provinces like Phuket or Samui, but with a unique and distinctive growth model.
Mr. Surasak stated that Hua Hin has enormous potential and embodies the essence of a simple, peaceful lifestyle. The focus will be on wellness trends, sports, and luxury services to attract tourists who will spend significantly but receive value for their money.
The Minister emphasized the importance of air travel, particularly through Hua Hin Airport, which is preparing to welcome both Thai and international tourists. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is committed to supporting airlines, including cooperating with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on promotions, supporting trial markets, and opening new direct flight routes. These routes will bring tourists from countries like Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Shanghai, and Singapore directly to Hua Hin Airport, distributing tourists to Cha-am, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, and surrounding areas.
Mr. Surasak further stated that this visit was conducted because of the importance placed on Hua Hin, which is more than just a transit point. The Ministry is ready to incorporate all opinions from the private sector into its policies to elevate the tourism economy and ensure sustainable growth.
