Bangkok: The Deputy Minister of Interior and the Director-General of the Provincial Administration personally led an operation, "Check-in The Airport," to raid an illegal nightclub in Nakhon Pathom. Drugs were found scattered on the floor, and 76 patrons tested positive for drugs. The establishment faces serious charges for allowing minors under 20 years old inside and is likely to be closed for five years as part of the anti-drug policy.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jetseth Thaiseth, Deputy Minister of Interior, alongside Mr. Narucha Khosasilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, spearheaded a special operations team from the Department of Provincial Administration. The team, guided by Mr. Ronnarong Thipsiri, Deputy Director-General, Pol. Lt. Singkham Khamyod, Director of the Investigation and Legal Affairs Division, and others, collaborated with the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Administration's special operations team. They deployed officers and members of the Volunteer Defense Corps to inspect The Airport establishment in Wang Takoo Subdistrict, Mueang District, at 00:30 on June 20, 2026.
This operation was initiated following complaints from local residents about the establishment operating an illegal pub without a license, allowing drug use, illicit activities, and permitting minors. The venue had changed its name several times, causing disturbances in the community.
A special operations unit from the Department of Provincial Administration sent undercover agents to investigate, discovering clear evidence of wrongdoing. A raid was conducted, finding numerous patrons drinking and dancing. Upon the officers' arrival, some patrons attempted to flee, while others discarded drugs on the floor.
A thorough inspection confirmed the establishment's lack of an operating license. Drugs and illegal items were found scattered, and urine tests revealed that out of 377 patrons, 76 tested positive for drugs. Additionally, 37 patrons were under 20, with the youngest being 17 years old, of whom 3 tested positive.
Administrative officers filed charges against the store manager, prosecuting him for multiple offenses, including operating without permission, selling alcohol beyond legal hours, and allowing underage patrons. Further violations included inciting inappropriate behavior among minors and unauthorized building modifications.
The neglect to prevent drug-related offenses on the premises violates the NCPO Order No. 22/2015, leading to a proposal for a five-year closure of the establishment by the Governor of Nakhon Pathom Province.
The Deputy Minister of Interior highlighted Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul's urgent directive, "Ministry of Interior Acts Immediately: Action 5 PLUS," aimed at combating drug trafficking and maintaining order. He warned operators of strict adherence to the law, emphasizing that violations will be met with decisive actions to ensure public safety and order.
