Pang Mu Subdistrict Administrative Organization Wins First Prize at UNPSA 2026 for “Leaving No One Behind”

Tbilisi: The Pang Mu Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Mae Hong Son Province received the UNPSA 2026 award for "Inclusive and Equitable Service Delivery Leaving No One Behind."

According to Thai News Agency, the United Nations Conference on Public Service (UNPSF), held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from June 23-25, 2026, under the theme 'Public Sector Institutional Reform: Promoting Innovation, Accountability, Participation and Inclusiveness,' was attended by representatives from 62 countries and approximately 500 participants. This included national leaders, ministers, senior government officials, civil society representatives, academics, the private sector, and representatives from international and regional organizations.

Ms. Chuencheewan Limtheerakul, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, represented Thailand along with Mr. Piriya Tuanglapthaveekit, Mayor of Pang Mu Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and the Subdistrict Administrative Organization Secretary, to receive the first prize in the category of inclusive and equitable service delivery, leaving no one behind. The winning project was "Inclusive Early Childhood Education Management for Ethnic Groups and Stateless Children in Pang Mu Subdistrict, Mae Hong Son Province." The award was presented by Mr. Li Chunhua, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of Economic and Social Affairs, to 12 government agencies across four UNPSA categories.

The United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA) recognize excellence in public service that transforms service delivery and participation, and promotes the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister, through the Office of the Committee on Decentralization to Local Administrative Organizations, has successfully supported and encouraged local administrative organizations that have received awards for good governance to apply for the 2026 United Nations Public Service Awards. This aims to inspire local administrative organizations to further develop their public services for the benefit of the people.
