Prime Minister Orders Establishment of Corruption Reporting Center for Local Government Examinations

Bangkok: The Prime Minister has mandated the creation of a center dedicated to reporting corruption in local government examinations, featuring a hotline (1111) and utilizing the Ministry of Interior's Damrongtham Center, also known as the Citizen's Complaint Center, across the nation.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has signed Prime Minister's Office Order No. 256/2569. This order directs the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office to manage the receipt of complaints and reports of corruption related to competitive examinations for civil service or local government positions through the government's 1111 hotline. Additionally, the Ministry of Interior has been instructed to employ all Damrongtham Centers nationwide, including those at provincial, district, and local administrative organization levels, as additional channels for reporting misconduct and assisting those affected by such corruption.

Ms. Ratchada highlighted that the Prime Minister's directive aims to uncover the truth and gather information about individuals involved in corruption in civil service or local government recruitment exams. This initiative is expected to cleanse the personnel selection system, ensuring that qualified individuals can contribute to local community development through a fair and transparent process.
