Songsak Denies Alleged Turmoil in Blue Faction Conflict

Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister Songsak Thongsri, a prominent figure in the Bhumjaithai Party, has dismissed claims made by deputy leader Viroj Lakkhanaadisorn of the People's Party regarding alleged turmoil within the Ministry of Interior. These claims pertain to a supposed conflict between Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and Buriram United Football Club president, Newin Chidchob. Songsak asserted that these were unfounded rumors and emphasized that there was no basis for such claims.

According to Thai News Agency, Songsak Thongsri addressed the matter by stating that Newin Chidchob, who is also his cousin, has no issues with him, further dismissing the claims as mere news without substance. He highlighted that differing opinions are a normal part of politics and do not necessarily equate to conflict or disagreement.

In response to Viroj's warning against repeating the mistakes of previous political figures, Songsak clarified that the comparison was unwarranted as they belong to different generations. He indicated that differing perspectives should not be misconstrued as internal discord.

Songsak was also questioned about potential internal conflicts related to the color blue, which represents the party. He dismissed the notion, reiterating that such interpretations are baseless and part of normal political discourse. Songsak concluded by mentioning the government's ongoing efforts with the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" project, which aims to monitor the distribution of funds to ensure they reach the public effectively. He noted that the project has been well-received and contributes positively to both the national and grassroots economy.
