Bangkok: Supachai Jaisamut has publicly criticized Seripisut Temiyaves regarding the ongoing Khao Kradong land dispute, accusing him of misrepresenting facts and overstepping judicial boundaries. Supachai, a Member of Parliament from the Bhumjaithai Party, expressed disapproval of Seripisut's conduct, labeling it inappropriate for a former Police Chief and pointing to past accusations against Seripisut involving state land trespass.
According to Thai News Agency, Supachai issued a statement addressing the actions of Seripisut, leader of the Seri Ruam Thai Party, who has been actively involved in the investigation of the Khao Kradong land issue in Buriram Province. Supachai argued that Seripisut's actions were inappropriate for a Member of Parliament, especially since the land in question is legally owned with official documentation. He suggested that Seripisut's actions might stem from either a misunderstanding of the law or a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputations of honest individuals.
Supachai highlighted an incident where Seripisut traveled to Buriram, confronting the landowner and allegedly harassing police officers, which Supachai described as unacceptable for an MP. He emphasized that such actions disregard due process and interfere with the judicial system. Supachai questioned Seripisut's claims of resolution, pointing out the ongoing civil lawsuits filed by the State Railway of Thailand, which indicate unresolved legal matters.
Supachai also referenced Seripisut's past legal challenges, including a dispute over a luxury resort in Kanchanaburi Province and an encroachment case involving the Chao Phraya River. These cases, Supachai noted, required judicial intervention, similar to the current situation in Buriram.
Further, Supachai addressed accusations against Anutin Charnvirakul, dismissing them as baseless and cautioning against misleading the public. He called on the Election Commission to expedite the investigation into the Bhumjaithai Party's complaint against Seripisut for alleged defamation. Supachai stated that a guilty verdict should lead to Seripisut's removal from his parliamentary position.
