Thai Bhakdi Party to Submit Complaint Over TH-AI Passport Project

Bangkok: The Thai Bhakdi Party is gearing up to file a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to probe potential favoritism towards private companies in the "TH-AI Passport" project.

According to Thai News Agency, Members of Parliament from the Thai Bhakdi Party announced their plan to petition the NACC for an investigation into alleged preferential treatment in the TH-AI Passport project. Mr. Warong Dechgitvigrom, a Member of Parliament from the party, detailed their findings at a press conference following discussions in the House of Representatives on the draft Budget Transfer Act proposed by the Cabinet.

Mr. Dechgitvigrom highlighted that the party's investigation into the TH-AI Passport project revealed inconsistencies in documents from a private company and the draft Terms of Reference (TOR). These documents mandate the installation of digital screens across 400 business locations in Bangkok and other provinces, in at least 1,500 convenience stores (totaling 6,000), and in over 200 screens inside and outside shopping malls. The party raised concerns about potential favoritism, pointing out that only one private company specializes in installing digital screens in convenience stores.

The Thai Bhakdi Party plans to file the complaint with the NACC at 10:30 AM tomorrow, seeking a thorough investigation into whether the TH-AI Passport project unjustly favored a specific private company.
