According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, addressed the issue on July 7, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. He responded to Cambodia's accusations regarding a purported grenade assault by Thai soldiers on July 5, 2026, which also included the spread of images showing injured Cambodian soldiers on social media. He reiterated that Thailand had clarified the situation, denying the allegations, and explained that the incident likely occurred due to Cambodian soldiers stepping on landmines. He underscored Thailand's adherence to the ceasefire agreement as outlined in the Joint Statement.
Thailand has also stressed the importance of ensuring that reports are verified and discussed before being published. It warned against the presentation of inaccurate or misleading information, especially given the fragile state of the ceasefire.
